About The Lady Felicia Foundation

Empowering Women, Transforming Lives

The Lady Felicia Foundation was founded with a mission to uplift vulnerable women in Sierra Leone by providing education, skills, and support. At the core of our foundation is the Lady Felicia Women’s Training Center, a safe and nurturing environment where women facing challenges such as homelessness, drug abuse, and economic hardship can rebuild their lives. Through a comprehensive six-month training program, we equip women with vocational skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and the confidence to create a stable, independent future.

Our Story

The Lady Felicia Foundation was born out of the vision and compassion of Lady Felicia Turay, a celebrated musician and passionate advocate for women’s empowerment. Having witnessed the struggles of women in her community, Lady Felicia was inspired to take action. With a commitment to changing lives, she established the foundation as a beacon of hope for women striving to overcome adversity. Today, the foundation is a vital community resource, creating pathways for women to rise above their circumstances and build meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Our Mission

We believe that every woman deserves the chance to thrive, regardless of her past. Our mission is to empower women by providing them with the tools they need to achieve independence, financial security, and self-confidence. Through education, skill-building, and mentorship, we aim to break the cycles of poverty and inequality, fostering a community where women are empowered to succeed and, in turn, inspire others.

The Lady Felicia Women’s Training Center

Our training center is the cornerstone of our foundation, offering a six-month, hands-on program designed to provide essential skills for sustainable employment and entrepreneurship. Each cycle serves 30 women, equipping them with vocational expertise and life skills to pursue dignified, self-reliant lives. Graduates from the program are encouraged to mentor the next group of participants, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond the center’s walls.

Our Programs

We focus on holistic empowerment by offering a variety of services that address both personal and professional development:

  • Vocational Training: Courses in tailoring, dress design, hairdressing, and gara tie-dyeing teach practical, marketable skills that enable women to earn an income and start small businesses.

  • Financial Literacy: Understanding the basics of budgeting, saving, and income management is essential for long-term success. Our financial literacy workshops help women build a solid foundation for financial independence.

  • Health and Wellness Education: We believe that true empowerment includes taking care of the body and mind. Our health talks cover essential topics such as personal hygiene, mental well-being, and substance abuse prevention.

  • Entrepreneurial Skills: With training in basic business principles, our program prepares women to take their newfound skills to market. From pricing and marketing to client relations, we provide the knowledge needed to thrive as entrepreneurs.

Our Impact

Since its founding, The Lady Felicia Foundation has empowered countless women, helping them escape cycles of hardship and embrace new possibilities. Each participant emerges from our program with valuable skills, renewed self-worth, and the confidence to support themselves and their families. But our impact goes beyond the individual—by uplifting women, we’re uplifting entire communities. Our graduates often become mentors, creating a self-sustaining cycle of support, inspiration, and empowerment.

How You Can Help

The Lady Felicia Foundation relies on the generosity of supporters like you to continue our mission. Through donations, product sales, and fundraising events—including concerts led by Lady Felicia herself—we are able to fund our programs and keep our doors open to women in need. By contributing, you’re not just making a donation; you’re investing in a brighter future for Sierra Leone’s women and their communities.
